What will happen when installing my kit?
Your solar panels, battery and other equipment may be delivered to your house the day before, but in most cases your installer will bring this equipment on the day of installation.
An accredited installer team will arrive at your property. They will have some paperwork to sign for the installation to commence.
The team will set up access to your roof to install the panels. They may set up temporary safety railings for while they work – these will be removed once the work is complete. To install the solar panels, metal rails are fixed to the roof and the solar panels are attached to them.
The installation team will position the inverter and battery on a pre-determined location on an external wall with shade or in a garage, and close to the switchboard if possible.
The team will position the battery close to the inverter and connect the battery to the inverter.
Cables will connect the solar panels on your roof to the inverter.
Once the equipment is installed, the installer will do the electrical work required at the site. This will include running the cables from the equipment to the switchboard, installing switchgear (circuit breakers, isolators, fuses etc).
Once the electrical work is done, the installer will do the commissioning of the system. This uses the OEM app, turning on the inverter and setting up monitoring. The installer will also test the system to verify that it’s functioning correctly. They will also create the Compliance Certificate of Electrical Safety (CCEW).
The installer will take pictures throughout the installation to supply to us, and also upload to the STC platform.
What happens once installation is finished?
Your installer will set up the monitoring on your phone, through the OEM app, and show you the basic functions.
When does my system turn on?
In Victoria, inspector will come to verify system installation. Up to 10 days.
In NSW, your system will be connected same-day.
Customer has to provide the installer site access (eg: clear the driveway)
Customer also needs to provide internet access (usually via Wi-Fi user & password for system to connect)
There may be some no-go areas, or blocked off for duration of install.
