Envisaging when your battery could go is an exciting step in your Home Energy Kit journey. Additionally, having potential locations to discuss with your Installer during site assessment helps ensure an efficient installation and avoids the added costs of additional site assessments.

Here's what you need to do:

Your Next Steps

  1. Walk around your property
  2. Find 2-3 spots that meet the requirements below
  3. Optional: Take photos

How to Find a Spot for Your Battery

Your battery needs:

  • A clear 2m x 2m space on a wall
  • No windows or doors within this 2m x 2m area
  • Protection from direct sunlight
  • To be away from gas meters

Best places are:

  • In your garage (most common choice)
  • On an external wall

Your battery can't go:

  • Inside living spaces (bedrooms, living rooms, etc.)
  • Where cars might hit it (without protection)
  • Under windows
  • In evacuation routes

What Happens at Each Location Check

At each potential location, our installers need to:

  • Check electrical connections
  • Work out cable requirements
  • Check what safety equipment is needed
  • Calculate final installation costs

Note: This is why an additional site visit is required to scope out a new battery location
