What Happens After Installation

You've got your solar, battery and inverter installed, now what?

Home Energy Kit (Solar, Battery, Smart Energy Software) or Solar Only

Your installer will connect everything to the grid for you, however there are a few things you’ll need to check with your Electricity Retailer before your system is working at its best for you.

Each Electricity Retailer is different, It is important to follow these steps to ensure your system is properly energized with the right meter and your retailer is measuring your Feed-In Tariffs.

What to tell your Electricity Retailer

Inform your retailer you now have solar and battery, or solar only installed. On this call they will let you know if you need a new solar meter installed or will need to reconfigure your existing meter to measure your energy export back to the Grid.

  • Your Electricity Retailer may have specific forms to complete, we suggest asking about these. Your Customer Handbook and Certificate of Electrical Safety has all the information you need to complete these forms.

We are here to help, if you need to complete a form and would like help  please forward us the form along with the reference number from your Customer Handbook to install@enreal.com.au. We will fill in the solar details and send the form back to you to complete your personal details & forward onto the retailer.

  • While you are on the phone to your Electricity Retailer we suggest you check you are on the right electricity tariff that will give you the best savings.

In most cases this is a Time of Use Tariff as it will allow the Smart Energy Software to optimise your savings based on the varying rates, solar generation, and battery storage.

What is in your Customer Handbook

Your handbook has detailed information regarding your Solar PV system which includes;

  • warranties,
  • datasheets,
  • performance estimates,
  • parts installed with serial numbers,
  • Grid connection reference #,
  • basic operating instructions.

Home Insurance

We suggest adding your Solar PV system & Battery to your home insurance. While most insurance providers consider fixtures like solar panels & batteries to be part of your building, it is good practice to double check this with your home insurance provider to see if the solar and battery are included in your sum insured value.

Battery Only

We suggest checking with your home insurance provider if any further actions are required to add your Battery to your home insurance. While most insurance providers consider fixtures like solar panels & batteries to be part of the building, it might be different in your policy. It is good practice to double check this with your home insurance provider to see if the solar & battery are included in your sum insured value.
